BPM has been recognized as one of 2017 Healthiest Companies for six consecutive years by the North Bay Business Journal. After a series of nominations, company survey inputs and extensive reviews, the Firm receives this honor along with 19 other companies in the North Bay.

“This distinction makes us proud beyond measure. Our Firm is committed to the empowerment of our people, and giving them the necessary tools and knowledge to make well-informed, healthy decisions that enrich their lives,” said Carol O’Hara, Managing Partner of BPM’s North Bay Practice. “Promoting wellness initiatives lends itself to a more positive, happier work environment. At the core of our cultural DNA is Because People Matter, so it’s important to us that we take great care of our people.”

BPM’s health and well-being programs are offered all year round. Flu shots and biometric testing are provided at no cost and are on-site during work hours for employees. To encourage employees to exercise and be active, the Firm also offers a discounted rate to a 24 Hour Fitness gym.

The results are promising. “We’ve seen a reduction in factors that lead to heart attack, diabetes, stroke and obesity. This is great news for our staff, while also keeping our medical claims down this past year. Our people-centered values include getting everyone up, out and engaged,” said Leone Manni, Administrative Manager.

Through BPM’s Wellness Program, employees can take their health into their own hands and keep track of their daily wellness activities. The program provides resources and rewards to employees who actively participate. Each activity rewards an employee with points that can be redeemed for a gift card or cost reduction on health benefits.

More importantly, employees can partake in certain activities like running a 5K marathon together—boosting a healthy collaboration between one another. They are given standing desks and can sign up to use the in-office treadmill desk to help alleviate the long hours they work during the busy season.

Recently, BPM was voted as a 2017 Best Place to Work in the North Bay for the 12th consecutive year. The Firm earned the highest recognition for a CPA accounting firm. BPM was also recognized as a winner of the 2017 Healthiest Employers award by the San Francisco Business Times and Silicon Valley Business Journal. The Firm also received Silver level recognition from the American Heart Association’s 2017 Workplace Health Achievement Index for its commitment to building a strong culture of best health practices in the workplace.
