Yash Shah

Yash is a Corporation Tax Partner at BPM LLP, bringing over a decade of experience advising publicly traded and privately held corporations across a diverse range of industries. His practice focuses on guiding clients through all phases of the business lifecycle—from entity formation and operational planning to reorganizations, acquisitions, and long-term strategic growth.

Yash is recognized for his deep technical experience in ASC 740 (Income Tax Provision) and income tax compliance across federal, multi-state, and international tax filing requirements. He has led complex tax provision and compliance engagements for clients with global operations, helping them meet regulatory obligations while optimizing tax positions.

Yash worked with a large multinational company with foreign subsidiaries planning to go public. He helped them qualify for millions in R&D Tax Credit and assisted with navigating their Foreign Subsidiary tax filing and disclosure needs. The client was successful in filings with the SEC and is now a publicly traded company.

He also has a successful background in helping companies that have inadvertently failed in filing international tax filings and/or disclosures. In the process, he’s helped them minimize penalties and put them on the path for future compliance.

His career spans roles at Indian Chartered Accountant firms, multiple national U.S.-based CPA firms, and a publicly traded company where he served as Global Tax Manager and Interim Global Tax Head. He also gained valuable financial services experience at Morgan Stanley, supporting hedge fund operations for U.S.-based funds.

Yash works closely with clients across industries including technology, manufacturing, consumer products, life sciences, retail, franchise, distribution, and apparel. He has a proven track record of identifying R&D tax credit opportunities, resolving state income tax filing obligations due to nexus issues, and leading tax personnel outsourcing initiatives to help clients transition their direct and indirect tax functions to overseas GCC centers. His proactive approach ensures operational tax procedures and best practices are implemented from day one.

Yash is a Chartered Accountant from India and a licensed CPA in California. He is an active member of the AICPA and CalCPA. Academically, he holds dual master’s degrees in Accounting from Mumbai University, India and a Master of Science in Taxation from San Jose State University.
