Rene Ledezma

Rene has over seven years of IT Assurance experience in public accounting, including experience at the Big Four.

Rene has experience working in IT controls surrounding Blockchain and Cryptocurrency related engagements, leading meetings with key stakeholders, who are located all around the world, to better understand: (1) how the financial data flows from one system to the other, (2) their ITGC’s and/or processes (Logical Access, Change Management, IT Operations, IT Management) as it relates to their key applications or systems; and to provide a summary of the potential findings (if any) along with recommendations to help improve their processes moving forward.

He assists clients with SOC 1® and SOC 2® readiness assessments in preparation for SOC examinations, and performs SOC 1, SOC 2 and SOC 3® examinations. His understanding of financial processes helps with developing a clear set of controls to address internal controls over financial reporting (“ICFR”) for SOC 1 environments. His comprehension of the SSAE reporting standards and trust services criteria helps with developing a clear set of controls that cover SOC 2 criteria. He assists in reviewing their SOC descriptions (Section III) for SOC controls, mapping controls to relevant frameworks, and testing those controls.

Rene conducts independent testing of IT General Controls (“ITGC”), IT application controls, and Information Provided by the Entity (“IPE”) for external audit clients.
