MJohnsonSAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Meredith Johnson, Director in BPM’s Tax Practice, has been elected to California Society of CPAs’ State Board of Directors. She is one of four Council Representatives who will serve for a staggered two-year terms.

In her new role, Johnson will act as a liaison between CalCPA state committees, chapters and the Board of Directors. Specifically, she will carry out the strategies and policies set by the CalCPA Council and the membership.

CalCPA is the largest statewide professional association of certified public accountants in the United States with a record of 44,000 members across 14 chapters. Through innovation and in partnership with the CPA profession, its mission is to deliver quality education, build knowledge to foster excellence, and advance individuals and the profession.

Participation on the CalCPA Board through the CalCPA Council is by nomination and election only. CalCPA members include CPAs, leading business and finance professionals, as well as students and educators in the community.

Outside of her commitment to CalCPA, Johnson will continue her full time position at BPM, advising clients in the areas of tax optimization, estate planning and business succession planning.
