BPM Named a 2026 Best CPA Firm for Women and Equity Leadership

October 30, 2026

BPM has once again been named a Best Firm for Women and a Best Firm for Equity Leadership by the 2026 Accounting MOVE Project. The project is the only annual benchmarking study that both measures and advocates for the advancement of women in the accounting profession.  BPM is one of only 11 firms in the nation recognized on both 2026 lists.

Recognized for advancing women into leadership

The Best Firms for Women list honors firms with strong representation of women at every career level. It also looks at their success in the four MOVE factors: Money, Opportunity, Vital Supports and Entrepreneurship. MOVE singled out BPM for its advancement of women of color, who make up about 41% of BPM’s women partners. Women also hold 65% of manager positions and 34% of partner and principal roles at BPM. The report pointed to BPM’s extensive caregiving supports and its intentional leadership development, including mentoring, sponsorship and stretch opportunities.

It also noted BPM’s culture of authentic colleague engagement, which gives every employee a voice in how the firm grows, serves clients and supports one another. The Best Firms for Equity Leadership list recognizes firms where women make up at least 31% of partners and principals. Research has long treated roughly one-third as a tipping point, the level at which women can shape decisions and firm direction as individuals rather than as a small minority.

A reflection of who we are

“Being recognized again as a Best Firm for Women and Equity Leadership reflects something we care deeply about at BPM: making sure every colleague has a real path to grow and lead,” said Nick Steiner, CEO of BPM. “Diverse leadership makes us stronger, sharpens our decisions, and helps us serve our clients better. We’re proud of this progress, and we know there’s more work ahead.”

“This recognition belongs to the women across BPM who mentor, sponsor, and open doors for one another every day,” said Dorothea Silva, BPM Advisory Partner and Executive Sponsor of the Women’s Initiative Now! (WIN!) Colleague Resource Group. “Through WIN!, we’re building a community where women can connect, take on stretch opportunities, and see themselves in leadership. We’re honored to be counted among the firms leading the way.”
