Project name

As a member of BPM’s Technical Accounting Group (TAG), Darren assists BPM clients with complex accounting projects for audit and IPO readiness. Past projects include assessing collaboration agreements, debt vs. equity, impairments and de-SPAC processes) and full implementation of accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606, ASC 842 and ASC 326). He enjoys being part of clients’ success stories with our team’s support ready to assist.

Darren leads the TAG’s internal newsletter team, which reaches the inboxes of BPM’s Assurance and BEST groups. The newsletter aims to support colleagues on complex accounting, topics of interest, build knowledge bases and present ideas so others can add value to their projects.

With prior academia and Big Four experience, Darren also enjoys creating educational materials for internal and external training. He has previously assisted on topics such as ASC 842 leases and other accounting for the wine industry, ASC 326 implementation for nonprofits and best practices for technical memorandum review and preparation.

Darren Kyle MacDonald holds an active Chartered Accountant license in South Africa.

Interesting tidbit

You may find Darren building a new Lego set for his collection or gaming on his PlayStation 5. He also enjoys watching movies on the big screen, including keeping up with the weekly domestic and international movie charts and news.
