Cynthia Schoelen is a Partner with BPM’s Business Enterprise Services Team (BEST) group, responsible for accounting, compilations, reviews and audits. She supervises a staff of CPAs and paraprofessionals preparing GAAP and special purpose framework financial statements for use by management and lending institutions. She assists clients in analyzing their financial statements to help them understand and manage their business operations.
Cynthia spends most of her professional time supporting Nonprofit clients. She supervises Yellow Book, Uniform Guidance and standard nonprofit audit engagements. In addition, she supervises staff that compiles books, records and schedules for clients that use other audit firms.
Cynthia is an AICPA peer reviewer and consults with CPA firms to establish quality control systems. She also holds the Certified Fraud Examiner designation.
Early in her career, Cynthia was an IRS auditor. She was provided with intensive tax law training and audited income tax returns for individuals, businesses and corporations.
Cynthia Schoelen holds an active CPA in California.
Cynthia is a proficient barbecue chef. As a “Pit Master,” her specialties are the Trifecta: brisket, ribs and pulled pork.
