Firm scores another award recognition, highlighting commitment to diversity and equity
SAN FRANCISCO, May 27, 2021 — BPM, one of the 50 largest public accounting and advisory firms in the country, has been recognized as a finalist by The Registry in its annual ELEVATE Awards in the Break the Ceiling: Corporate Leadership Award.
Produced in conjunction with regional Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) chapters, real estate media company The Registry’s ELEVATE Awards celebrate exemplary individuals and companies that are making a positive impact in the commercial real estate industry.
The Break the Ceiling: Corporate Leadership Award is given to a company that promotes equality in the workplace and has strong programs in place to advance women and/or culturally diverse employees within the commercial real estate industry. BPM was named one of two finalists in the category.
“It is one thing to speak of inclusivity, but it is another to act in support of it. Through our Inclusion Now! team, we strive to cultivate a culture that supports and encourages a sense of belonging for our diverse work force, as we continue to live our brand promise, ‘Because People Matter,’” said BPM CEO Jim Wallace. “Our dedication to fostering diversity in the workplace is equally met by our dedication to delivering wow experiences and proactive advice. Our clients rely on us to help them be successful in work and life, and although we do not see recognition merely as a function of awards, we understand that our continued achievements will further cement their trust in our hard-working, diverse and talented team.”
BPM continues to celebrate an award-winning spring as the firm of choice for clients and colleagues. In 2021 alone, BPM has been listed among Accounting Today’s Top 10 Firms in the West and as a 2021 Best of Accounting Award winner for the sixth consecutive year based on client service excellence, and Forbes’ Best Tax and Accounting Firms for the second year in a row.
“We are thrilled to receive this recognition from these distinguished representatives of the local real estate community,” added Jackie Matsumura, Partner in BPM’s Tax Practice and the Firm’s Real Estate Industry Group Co-Leader. “One of our goals as a Firm and a team is to attract and develop a diverse talent base. To finish as a Finalist in these awards affirms that we are doing a lot right by our colleagues, and ultimately, our clients, who reap the benefits of our team’s superlative talent.”
