Alan Alvarez

Alan has more than 15 years of experience with BPM and is a partner in the firm’s Santa Rosa office. He specializes in auditing and providing technical accounting and SEC reporting advisory services to public and privately held companies, including complex, growth-oriented organizations.

Alan leads BPM’s Professional Services Industry Group and advises clients in the consumer business, technology, and emerging growth sectors. His experience includes complex equity and capital structures, share-based compensation, revenue recognition, business combinations, digital assets and blockchain-related accounting matters, and international operations.

Alan regularly assists companies with SEC reporting requirements, including Form 10-K and 10-Q filings, technical accounting position papers, adoption of new accounting standards, and coordination with audit committees and external advisors. His digital asset and blockchain experience includes accounting and disclosure considerations related to crypto assets, token-based arrangements and evolving regulatory guidance.

Alan’s depth of technical expertise and practical approach enable him to help clients navigate complex accounting and reporting issues while meeting the expectations of regulators, investors, and other stakeholders. He is a member of the AICPA and CalCPA.
