Appian, an innovative global provider of business process management (BPM) technology, and MEGA, a recognized source for enterprise architecture (EA) and business process analysis (BPA) solutions, today announced a partnership to seamlessly join the BPA and EA capabilities of the MEGA Modeling Suite with the Appian Enterprise BPM Suite and the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)-delivered Appian Anywhere platforms. The partners say the aim of the agreement is to accelerate enterprise success in process innovation and build on existing deployments with current joint customers such as Enterprise Rent-A-Car, AXA Investment Managers, General Dynamics, and the Department of Homeland Security. The partnership will be supported by product integration, as well as shared and coordinated sales and marketing activities.

“We have been using both Appian and MEGA since going through rigorous product selection processes several years ago,” said Pat Steinmann, department manager of Request Services, Enterprise Rent-A-Car. “The integration of these two systems will give us an incredible amount of visibility into process performance and the potential impact of change on our production processes.”

The planned product integration will allow business users to perform process design and architecture in the MEGA Modeling Suite and then export processes directly to the Appian BPM platform for execution and direct management of daily operations. In addition, users of the MEGA Modeling Suite will be able to analyze Appian Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) data for further analysis and process optimization. Finally, IT architects will be able to directly discover object and process relationships from MEGA in applications built upon Appian for detailed change impact and risk analysis in managing applications powered by Appian.

“Appian and MEGA are both dynamic, growing, and innovative companies, and share a common vision for making process improvement simple and effective,” noted Matthew Calkins, president and CEO of Appian. “This partnership will be of great value to our shared customers.”

Both companies count some of the largest international and US companies among their customers. Appian serves United Parcel Service, Swiss Re, AGF, Mercer, Archstone-Smith, World Bank, FDIC, and the US Army. MEGA customers include AT&T, DirecTV, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, Morgan Stanley, NASA, Nissan, and Wyeth, and the US Departments of Agriculture, Homeland Security, and Transportation.

“The combination of MEGA’s powerful BPA, simulation, and optimization functionality with Appian’s robust and scalable BPM platform will unite business users and analysts with enterprise, technical, and information architects in the common goal of creating adaptive, process-driven organizations,” explained Lucio de Risi, president and CEO of MEGA.

The MEGA Modeling Suite has been the foundation for improved business performance at companies worldwide for more than 17 years. The software helps organizations understand and analyze their business processes, anticipate trends, and manage changes in their markets. The MEGA Modeling Suite helps reduce unknowns, delays, and costs by providing a complete view of the processes of the organization and the human and IT resources that support it.
